What did I learn from creating and testing the model of my river?

I thought that it will be a hard project but it came out to be real easy. I loved the part when we got to create the clay and my mom used water and flower and in one day the clay became hard.i loved how we had the speaker on the overhead and how MR. cooke ask if we wanted to have water. me and my mother used a old pan to put my project in and 3 cups of flower
I learned that if i had let the play-do harden then i would have not made it go all over the box. I felt challenging when Mr. Cooke assigned us the project. I took my brothers project (that was doing a projet on) the desert) and i put play-do on it. I think other then that my profect was good. i kinda like the project but i knew I could do better.
Well i had a lot of fun building the York River. First when my teacher told us that we were going to to do a model of the river you were assigned , it was kind of exciting but sounded hard though.I did like how we got to do a pod-cast. It was tough at first because think if you were assigned a river that you really didn't know a lot of information about that river you were assigned. Then it started getting easier once i found out more information about the York River.
I learned that my river was hot and dry I also learned that my river is the longest river, it is located on the border Uganda Tanzania, I loved the creation I did on my model because of the wildlife the wildlife in the Nile river, is a Nile crocodile and hippopotamus. The people that is surround by the Nile river . They use this river for transportation and supplies.
My dad help me do the Rio Grande and we have a lots of fun makeing. My mom buy some clay to make grass. We finish for 1 day. Then i went to school and i saw lots of cool project. then the class went to the library to show are project. Then i have to show my project next. Then the class like my project and i feel so happy.
My assignment was to build a model of the kings river . At first when iI heard that we had to build a model I was skeptical as well as excited . During my construction I had to do way more research than I thought . I learned that there are many tributaries that lead in to the ocean . This was a fairly simple project.
The assignment the class had to do was to make a model on your assigned river. First I went out and brought play-dough and made an out line of the river. I got animals and placed them were I wanted them. Then we tested it and it worked.
It was challenging but in the end it was all worth it. It was really fun . We used the Bible to gather information. First we went to Big lots for a tub. then we went to the craft store in the River dale shopping center to get a foam block grass, and rocks. After that we went to the Dollar general to get some play doe. We used our hot glue gun to glue everything to the foam. My parents helped me the most because they helped me gather information from the Bible. My river was the Tigiris river.
My assignment was the Ganges river. I had to point out the rivers climate,vegetation,environment,etc. First we did the powerpoint slides to put the project in order. Then we put our pictures in i photo. Finally wedid our podcast.
I had a lot of fun making the model for the Mekong river. When the teacher first told us about the project I was very excited about it and I could not wait to start on it. Me and my mom went Walmart to get four canisters of playdough. But when I did my podcast I really messed up and blasted the music by acident but other than that it was pretty sweet.
My name is Patric and I didn't do my project cause I couldn't make my clay I show my mo m the recipe but she didn't have time to make it. i wanted to do it i just did't know what to do we was packing and i told my to make it I guess it was the wrong i ask like 3 times but after that i didn't worry about it. but i did do my presentation and my record and made 100 so i am glad about as well I am dissapointed so i hope we do another and this time I will be ready.
my names is Collin. I had to build the Colorado river. First I made the clay. then I made a mountain with a river and a ocean at the bottom. Finally I turned it in and it held water. This was my model of the Colorado river.

My model was horrible because I Loryn Mock had all these great ideas, but I waited until the last minute to do something so ..... My model was a complete disaster.
I learned that if my play-do wasn't so soft, then my model could've been better. It was a challenge making the play-do, but in the end I think I did good with my project.

I was also a little confused on the research part to. But i thought it all turned out great in the end. Although the water part didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but at least I got half of the credit!!!

My project was about the Rhine river. It was the best project I ever did. It was fun. I made my project out of clay I made. I loved it when me and my mom made clay it was hard.
I thought the model would be really hard but it was a little bit easy. I had put soft clay on my project but it would not harden. So when i came to school it broke because it didn't get hard.
The name of my river was the Amazon.I learned that the model I made didn't really come out as I expected.The first thing i did was find a plastic container.Then I made the clay a nd put it in the container.After that I painted the clay.This project was really fun and I hope I can do way better on the next project.
Mr. Cooke gave me a project on a random river system the one he gave me the Jordan river. First I looked up the river, then I got pics. Then I started a garage band wrote a script on what I wanted to say, then I added the pics under the section that they were mentioned. This project was a good and stressful experience.
To begin with I did not know nothing about my river. But at the end I knew where my river is located, what is the wildlife, how long is the river, what is the climate, and most of all I learned what the people along the river used it for.
My project was about the Yukon river. I first collected all the materials i needed to make my model. Then I started making my clay then started making my model out of clay and legos. I got my model here by riding my bus. It was a fun thing to do.

My play dough hardened when I went to go and redo my project so my river wasn't very great. The river was pinkish-purple not green like it was suppose to be and I think I probably should have got a d+.
I loved doing this project! I did the Magdalena river and learned everything i could about it. My favorite part of the project was the model. I got a lot of knowledge out of this project and it really paid off in the end! My teacher, principle, and my librarian. I couldn't have done this without this without the support from Mr. Cooke and my parents.

We had to get clay and paint and things. then I had to outline the board with marker and put clay on it and let it dry, when it dried my and my partner Kira painted the board and clay. on the day Kira bought it in it broke so she had to fix it cause I didn't see it how it turned out yet. It was kindda fun to do.

She spent the night at my house and we worked on our project all day we painted it we used clay and a big sheet of something that i don't know the name of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had fun but that project was so hard I would never do it again!!!!!!!!

When I started building the Mackenzie River it just wouldn't work,the clay wouldn't stick to the cardboard, and the trees wouldn't stay up. After that I let everything dry, and it finally stayed up. All in all I thought that it was a great project.
Hello, my name is Alyssa I had the Euphrates River. First i had to go out and buy my stuff which took FOREVER! My dad and I had to go to at least 4 stores! I got clay, a tin pan, paint, and some animals. I think i could've done better if I would've had more time. My favorite thing about the project was the Podcast. I think i used my best reading voice; nice and loud. I would like to do another project, just not one like this. I think that everyone did a good job in my class because i knew they at least tried. But I think that i did a good job and that's pretty much all!
This project whent really smoothly. I really enjoyed putting it togther! It was kind of stressful looking for the materials i needed because the project was almost due. But once i got the materials the project was pretty basic. Then when it was due i thought i wasn't going to be able to bring it in safetly. But it all turned out correctly. This was a brilliant project and i can't wait to see whats next!
The project was very hard but,it was a very big part of my grade. I thought Mr.Cooke was going crazy when he told us how much stuff we had to do. I thought there was no way I could do it all. It took me 3 day for the worksheets and, then it took me 11 more day for the podcast.But I finished it all.

Hi my name is Destiny and I worked on the Mackenzie river. We used 3 bowls of home made clay and I made it. The next day the clay was hard ,so we were ready to get to work. but the rest of the work was easy since I didn't work on it by myself ,Syniah worked on it to.We worked till the job was done.
My assignment was to make a model of my river out of objects around the house. I made mine out of clay. It looked really good, in my opinion. My mom and me had to make two pots full of clay to make the whole model. I was assigned the Danude river. It's the second longest river in Europe, so I had to make it a long river. So I used a tip of a pencil so I could make the water, Mr.Cooke would put on it with a watering can, could go down in the ocean. The ocean was a piece of wax paper, painted a light, sky blue, with salt and clay as a beach. I had a fun but hard time doing it. I wouldn't mind doing it again.
My model project was on the Colorado River. I learned that the Colorado River is a desert river and runs through the Grand Canyon. First I went to K Mart to look for clay and styrofoam, but my luck wasn't to good... they didn't have either one :(. Second my partner Imani and her mom went to Walmart to get some playdoe, and when they got home we went and looked in the ditch for a rock, but we didn't find one, so then we went in the alley and then we found the perfect sized rock for our mountain. Then we got my dad to go up to Dollar Tree to get some styrofoam, and he got some. Then we started finishing our project. After that we finally turned the project in on the day it was due. I was so happy that we had finished our project. I was finally relieved.
My model project was really easy to form, it was just recording my voice I kept runninig out of ideas,and details but I still enjoyed the due day dec,18 08 and I saw my model filled with small twigs and clay and I even heard my voice.

I had to build a model of the Zambezi River. The model I made was big and heavy. I started my model later then I hoped. First my mom got me some clay and I got a pretty big box. Then I made my model three days before it was do. The day after I made my model I had to take it on to the bus. It was hard to get it to not crackle and break. But when I got it into the classroom it started to dry up and break.So I tried to put it back together so that it would work. The last thing that happened was that my project worked perfectly!!!

Then I started to have a picture in my head of what I wanted my model to look like,so I asked my mom to get me poster board but she didn't have time because she always came home late from work so she could only give me 4 canisters of clay and construction paper. Finally I did my project it wasn't what I had expected but as long as I did it thats what matters. This was a fun project but I wish my mom had time to give me the supply I needed.
I was asigned the Uruguay River. It was really hard. I used a shoebox to put the model in. I used crayola clay, Reindeer Moss, and paint to make the model. First, i spread the clay in the shoebox. Then, i made three mountains. I made the river going down all three mountains going into two lakes and an ocean. Then after that i painted it. I glued Reindeer Moss to the grass area to use as grass. Finally, i took toothpicks and glued my labels to it for my river, two lakes, and ocean. I really enjoyed doing it.
First of all I did not like the idea of the model because ,I always finish at the last second or not at all. I first I had no time to waste so I got all my information on the first day. The second was not much different all but I started my podcast and finished it(but it was TERRIBLE & also you could hear everybody and everything in the background . On the last day I was not really happy with my podcast so i decided to start it all over i did not have the microphone any more so I just used the one on top of the computer, oh and to make the day worse I did not even start on the pictures yet and my model was not even done yet. In a flash I learned how to get pictures idid it and put them on the podcast. Also remember how I told you that I started my podcast? I did all that to well I was at my house and I did not have anything for my model so I called my mom about it she got kinda mad that I waited till the last minute I goy the play-dough. It was about 10:00 o`clock but I finished it. Overall I think I did great on my project.(leason learned dont wait till the last minute mom will get mad!)
I was givin the Rio De la Plata river .The river many kinds of wildlife and vegetation (plants) so it was hard to pick what kind of plants and animals so, before I can do that I had to find out where the river flows througth and then I had to think about some very fun and entertaining facts and then I also had to worry about the modal but I had all the things that where needed but now since every thing was here and ready could get started and it worked out good

First I went to K Mart to look for clay and styrofoam, but my luck wasn't to good... they didn't have either one :(. Second my partner Imani and her mom went to Walmart to get some playdoe, and when they got home we went and looked in the ditch for a rock, but we didn't find one, so then we went in the alley and then we found the perfect sized rock for our mountain. Then we got my dad to go up to Dollar Tree to get some styrofoam, and he got some. Then we started finishing our project. After that we finally turned the project in on the day it was due. I was so happy that we had finished our project. I was finally relieved.
My model project was really easy to form, it was just recording my voice I kept runninig out of ideas,and details but I still enjoyed the due day dec,18 08 and I saw my model filled with small twigs and clay and I even heard my voice.
My river was the Mackenzie River it is the longest river in Canada. On my project I worked with my friend Destiny. Since two people were working together we had to make sure our project had some really good details. First, I went to Target to get some clay and pipe cleaners. We used the blue clay for the river and the white clay for the snow but, we ran out of white clay so we had to make 3 bowls of homemade clay. Then, we got some fake snow to put over the clay we made and some in the river as well because the river freezes over there. Finally, we put some fake trees on the snow just to add a little detail. The trees had snow on them and I thought that was really neat. We also looked on the internet for animals that live in Canada like bears, wolves,a few rabbits, we even used goldfish as the fish in the water. This project was cool and not only did I learn about the Mackenzie River but, I got a chance to learn a little about Canada too. This project was awesome I hope we do another one.

I had to build a model of the Zambezi River. The model I made was big and heavy. I started my model later then I hoped. First my mom got me some clay and I got a pretty big box. Then I made my model three days before it was do. The day after I made my model I had to take it on to the bus. It was hard to get it to not crackle and break. But when I got it into the classroom it started to dry up and break.So I tried to put it back together so that it would work. The last thing that happened was that my project worked perfectly!!!

My assignment was to make a model of the irrawaddy river. First when Mr. Cooke assigned me this river I thought it was going to be impossible to do. Then I started to have a picture in my head of what I wanted my model to look like,so I asked my mom to get me poster board but she didn't have time because she always came home late from work so she could only give me 4 canisters of clay and construction paper. Finally I did my project it wasn't what I had expected but as long as I did it thats what matters. This was a fun project but I wish my mom had time to give me the supply I needed.
I was asigned the Uruguay River. It was really hard. I used a shoebox to put the model in. I used crayola clay, Reindeer Moss, and paint to make the model. First, i spread the clay in the shoebox. Then, i made three mountains. I made the river going down all three mountains going into two lakes and an ocean. Then after that i painted it. I glued Reindeer Moss to the grass area to use as grass. Finally, i took toothpicks and glued my labels to it for my river, two lakes, and ocean. I really enjoyed doing it.
First of all I did not like the idea of the model because ,I always finish at the last second or not at all. I first I had no time to waste so I got all my information on the first day. The second was not much different all but I started my podcast and finished it(but it was TERRIBLE & also you could hear everybody and everything in the background . On the last day I was not really happy with my podcast so i decided to start it all over i did not have the microphone any more so I just used the one on top of the computer, oh and to make the day worse I did not even start on the pictures yet and my model was not even done yet. In a flash I learned how to get pictures idid it and put them on the podcast. Also remember how I told you that I started my podcast? I did all that to well I was at my house and I did not have anything for my model so I called my mom about it she got kinda mad that I waited till the last minute I goy the play-dough. It was about 10:00 o`clock but I finished it. Overall I think I did great on my project.(leason learned dont wait till the last minute mom will get mad!)
I was givin the Rio De la Plata river .The river many kinds of wildlife and vegetation (plants) so it was hard to pick what kind of plants and animals so, before I can do that I had to find out where the river flows througth and then I had to think about some very
fun and entertaining facts and then I also had to worry about the modal but I had all the things that where needed but now since every thing was here and ready could get started and it worked out good
It was fun. I still have my project. It was a lot of work!
